Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown, New Zealand is the Southern Hemisphere’s premier four seasons lake and alpine resort spot. Getaways in Queenstown is inspired by the gorgeous scenery, and immense activities to do around the area. The town is surrounded by majestic mountains and set on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu, the natural beauty and the unique energy of the region create the perfect backdrop for a holiday full of adventure and discovery.
In short, Queenstown stole my heart. If I ever return to New Zealand or make it to Australia, I will make a weekend trip back here. I fell in love with all of it; the vibe, the scenery, the people, the food.
Quick list of must-do’s in Queenstown:
Yes, this is hyped up, a lot. It is on the tourist attractions lists and the line will always be long. But, it is for good reason. Try it – trust me.
2. Mrs. Ferg:
Go to Mrs. Ferg next door and try some of the homemade hot chocolate. It is indescribable.
3. Take a Hike:
Seriously, take a hike. Not like get out of here, but take one. Pick any, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. I wasn’t.
4. Visit the Ice Bar:
There are two different ones available to go to, pick one. I’ve heard both are incredible. You will only be able to bare it for one drink. But, take some pictures, get a drink, and enjoy sitting in a bar with everything made of ice. Careful when you sit your ice glass down as it will slip on the ice tables, like mine did. But hey, actually, let it fall – maybe you’ll be lucky like me and get a second one for free.
5. Bungy Jump:
If you’re in for thrill, adrenaline rushes, and a real, damn good experience, I highly recommend going bungy jumping. Check out my post here for the full description on my experience.
